20–21 January 2026. The Ergonomic Risk Assessment (ERA) for Ergonomic Trained Person (ETP) Initial programme was successfully conducted at Bangi Resort Hotel, facilitated by Ts. Dr. Hari Krishnan Tamil Selvan and organised by HFEM Academy. The two-day training aimed to equip participants with essential knowledge and practical competencies in ergonomic risk assessment, including identification of ergonomic hazards, application of assessment tools, and development of appropriate control measures to reduce work-related musculoskeletal risks. Through interactive discussions and practical exercises, participants gained a better understanding of ergonomic principles and reporting requirements, enabling them to apply the ERA approach effectively within their respective workplace settings.
22 January 2026. The Human Factors and Ergonomics Awareness session was successfully conducted via an online platform, bringing together participants from various industries to enhance their understanding of the importance of human factors and ergonomics in the workplace. The session was delivered by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dian Darina Indah Daruis, who shared valuable insights on fundamental concepts, workplace applications, and the role of ergonomics in improving safety, health, and productivity. Organised by HFEM Academy, the programme aimed to increase awareness and promote proactive approaches in identifying human-related risks, encouraging participants to integrate ergonomic principles into their daily work practices for better well-being and organisational performance.
25 January 2026. The Human Factors and Ergonomics Society Malaysia (HFEM) successfully conducted its Strategic Planning Workshop for the 2026–2027 term from 23–25 January 2026, bringing together HFEM Executive Committee members, Special Interest Group (SIG) representatives, and student chapters for comprehensive discussions and future planning. Over the three-day session, participants actively engaged in strategic deliberations on research, innovation, and global collaboration, reviewed SIG and student chapter progress, evaluated 2025 KPIs with target setting for 2026, and contributed to the development of HFEM Academy training modules, the MCPE framework, and examination content, as well as planning upcoming HFEM programmes and activities. The workshop also provided a valuable platform for networking, collaboration, and knowledge sharing among members, further strengthening HFEM’s commitment to advancing human factors and ergonomics, promoting best practices, and prioritising health, safety, and sustainable development.
