Launch of the Human Factors and Ergonomics International Journal (HFEIJ)

We are excited to announce the publication of the Human Factors and Ergonomics International Journal (HFEIJ) — the official biannual, peer-reviewed journal of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society Malaysia (HFEM).

HFEIJ is committed to advancing the science and practice of human factors and ergonomics by providing a global platform for cutting-edge research and scholarly dialogue. The journal welcomes high-quality original research articles, systematic reviews, insightful case studies, and innovative theoretical papers that span the full spectrum of ergonomics and human factors engineering.

The journal covers a broad range of topics, including but not limited to:
• Cognitive and physical ergonomics
• Human–computer interaction and user experience
• Workplace safety and human-centred system design
• Industrial design, transportation systems, and related interdisciplinary fields.

HFEIJ upholds rigorous peer review standards and adheres to ethical publication principles, ensuring that all published work contributes significant academic value and practical relevance to both research and industry.

We invite researchers, practitioners, and academics from around the world to submit manuscripts and contribute to this dynamic forum. Published articles will be openly accessible, enhancing global reach and impact.

Ergonomic Trained Person Level 2

An Ergonomic Risk Assessment Training for Ergonomics Trained Person (ETP) Level 2 – Advanced was conducted as a public training on 26–27 November 2025 at the HFEM Academy Training Room, Seri Kembangan. The programme focused on specialised ergonomic assessment methods, including Workplace Lighting Assessment, Heat Stress Evaluation and Control, and Vibration Exposure Assessment, aimed at strengthening advanced competencies in managing physical workplace risk factors.

Basic Cognitive Ergonomics

A Basic Cognitive Ergonomic Assessments in an Occupational Setting (Physical Session) was conducted on 28 November 2025 (Friday) from 2:30 PM – 5:30 PM (Half Day) at HFEM Academy, Seri Kembangan. The session was facilitated by Dr. Ummi Noor Nazahiah Abdullah and focused on introducing participants to fundamental cognitive ergonomic assessment principles and their application in occupational settings. This session was open to the public and free of charge

Ergonomic Trained Person Level 2 (A-ERA)

An Ergonomic Risk Assessment Training for Ergonomics Trained Person (ETP) Level 2 – Advanced was conducted as a public training on 9–10 December 2025 at Bangi Resort Hotel. The programme was facilitated by Dr. Ummi Noor Nazahiah Abdullah and covered advanced ergonomic assessment methods, namely REBA, ROSA, MAC, RAPP & ART, to enhance participants’ competency in conducting comprehensive and systematic ergonomic risk assessments.
