HFEM Expert Talk: HCI Webinar Series 1
HFEM and HFEM Academy successfully organized the first session of the HCI Webinar Series under the HFEM Expert Talk initiative, titled “Human Factors in Product and Service Development,” on 9 June 2026. The free webinar, which was open to the public, highlighted the importance of applying human factors principles in product and service design to enhance usability, safety, and overall user experience. Chaired by Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Aslina Baharum, the session featured presentations by Dr. Shah Faizan from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, India, on Study of Hand-Product Interaction Using a Tactile Glove, and Dr. A. Imran Nordin, UX Research Specialist, on UX Research in Practice: A Human Factors Perspective. The webinar attracted participants from academia, industry, and the general public, providing a valuable platform for knowledge sharing and promoting greater awareness of human factors and human-computer interaction (HCI).
HFEM Expert Talk: Organisational Ergonomics Series
HFEM Academy successfully organised a free public webinar under the HFEM Talk – Organisational Ergonomics Series, titled “Smart Workflow Design for Safety in Multi-Tasking Environments,” on 11 June 2026. Open to the public, the webinar provided valuable insights into how effective workflow design and organisational ergonomics can enhance workplace safety, productivity, and operational efficiency in multi-tasking environments. The session was delivered by Dr. Mohd Faiq Abd Aziz and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nor Wahiza Abdul Wahab, who shared practical knowledge, current research, and real-world applications of organisational ergonomics. Serving as a teaser for HFEM Academy’s upcoming Organisational Ergonomics Series, the webinar offered participants a preview of the key concepts and practical approaches that will be explored in greater depth during the full training programme. The webinar attracted participants from various industries and the public, reflecting HFEM Academy’s commitment to promoting ergonomics.

i-ERA for ETP Program
HFEM Academy successfully conducted the Ergonomic Risk Assessment Training for Ergonomics Trained Person (Level 1: Initial) on 23–24 June 2026 at Bangi Resort Hotel. Facilitated by Prof. Dr. Baba Md Deros, the two-day programme introduced participants to the fundamentals of ergonomic risk assessment, equipping them with the knowledge and practical skills to identify ergonomic hazards, conduct initial workplace assessments, and apply ergonomic principles to improve workplace safety, health, and productivity. Upon successful completion of the training, participants were registered with the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) Malaysia as Ergonomics Trained Persons (ETP) – Level 1 (Initial), marking an important step towards professional recognition and competency in ergonomic risk assessment.
Chemical Health and CHRA
HFEM Academy successfully conducted the online training “Understanding Chemical Health Risks and CHRA” on 25 June 2026 via Zoom. The session was delivered by Dr. Vivien How, providing participants with a comprehensive understanding of chemical health risks, the principles of Chemical Health Risk Assessment (CHRA), and the importance of effective chemical hazard management in the workplace. Participants gained practical knowledge on identifying chemical hazards, understanding risk assessment requirements, and implementing appropriate control measures to ensure compliance with occupational safety and health regulations. The training reinforced HFEM Academy’s commitment to enhancing workplace safety through continuous professional development and chemical safety awareness.
HFEM Academy successfully organised HCI Webinar Series 2 under the HFEM Expert Talk series, titled “Human Factors in Product and Service Development,” on 16 June 2026. The free online webinar featured V. Sharmila Devi, Founder and Director of Ergonomic Healthcare India, who presented “Future of Office Ergonomics: Integrating AI and Human Factors,” and Hidayu Hakim, UX Lead at Stampede, who shared “Designing for Independence: EV Charging & Physical-Digital UX Gap.” Moderated by Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Aslina Baharum, the session provided valuable insights into the application of human factors, ergonomics, and user-centred design in creating innovative, accessible, and effective products and services. The webinar attracted participants from various industries, academia, and the public, reflecting HFEM Academy’s commitment to promoting knowledge sharing and advancing human factors and ergonomics.
