On 15th August 2022, HFEM in collaboration with the College of Engineering, UiTM had organized the Seminar on Commercial Vehicle Safety Forum. The seminar was held at College of Engineering, UiTM Shah Alam, Selangor. Five presenters had delivered their experience and knowledge sharing, and the program was closed by the forum session by all the presenters.

Bengkel Pembangunan Garis Panduan Ergonomik Di Sektor Pembuatan 2022 (Siri 1)

Pada 25 Ogos 2022, HFEM telah menjemput pengamal industri dalam sektor pembuatan untuk menyertai Bengkel Pembangunan Garis Panduan Ergonomik untuk Sektor Pembuatan. Program ini telah berlangsung di Bangunan Pejabat Timbalan Naib Canselor (Penyelidikan & Inovasi), UPM Serdang.

Program ini merupakan pembangunan Garispanduan Ergonomik yang melibatkan sektor sektor yang menerima pampasan tertinggi dari PERKESO. Kos-kos yang terlibat adalah bagi menampung kos elaun saguhati. 

Analisa statistik PERKESO dari tahun 2009-2014 menunjukkan sektor yang menerima jumlah pampasan tertinggi akibat penyakit Muskuloskeletal dari PERKESO adalah Sektor Pembuatan, Peruncitan, Tenaga/Komunikasi dan Pertanian. Pembangunan dan penerbitan buku garis panduan ergonomik bagi Sektor Pembuatan akan membantu dan menggalakkan penglibatan pemain pemain industri di sektor ini bagi mengenal pasti dan seterusnya mengawal faktor risiko ergonomik di tempat kerja mereka dan seterusnya membantu mengurangkan kes kes MSD di tempat kerja.

Objektif bengkel ini adalah untuk:

  • Mengenal pasti proses kerja di sektor pembuatan dan seterusnya mengenal pasti bahaya ergonomik (ergonomics hazard) secara spesifik bagi industri pembuatan
  • Menyenaraikan contoh-contoh penambahbaikan yang sedia ada dan boleh digunakan oleh sektor pembuatan bagi menguruskan isu ergonomik di tempat kerja
  • Menerbitkan dapatan di atas sebagai sebuah garispanduan pengurusan ergonomik bagi sektor pembuatan sebagai bahan rujukan
  • Menyumbang ke arah matlamat jangka panjang Vision Zero iaitu “strengthen awareness of health, safety and well-being at work” dan “get as much involvement and support as possible from the target groups”.

HFEM completed 11 ERA training session up to July 2022

Up to July 2022, HFEM has conducted 6 sessions of Initial Ergonomics Risk Assessment (ERA) and 5 sessions of Advanced ERA trainings. A total 178 participants has took part in the virtual and face-to-face trainings with our DOSH certified trainers.

Focus group discussion on health risk assessment gap analysis

22-23 March 2022 – HFEM representatives; President, Dr Ng Yee Guan and Board Member, Dr. Mohd Zubairy Shamsudin have participated in the

Focus Group Discussion – Health Risk Assessment Gap Analysis Workshop that hosted by the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH). The workshop was held at National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), Bangi.

The workshop is part of Core Strategy 4, Program 5: Integrating Occupational Health Risk Assessment, under the Occupational Safety and Health Master Plan 2021-2025 (OSHMP 25). The Program 5 activities are centered on reviewing and improving occupational health risk assessments, which covering all workplace health hazards such as physical, chemical, ergonomic, biological, and psychosocial.

The aim of OSHMP 25 is to increase the Malaysian occupational safety and health (OSH) level in protecting human resources, which is an important asset to the country’s development program in terms of achieving the Shared Prosperity Vision 2030 (WKB 2030) goals.

The session was also attended by various agencies, including JKKP Putrajaya, Selangor, WP Kuala Lumpur, Pulau Pinang, Negeri Sembilan, NIOSH Malaysia, SOCSO, PETRONAS, UPM, UNISEL, UM, NGOs and consulting firms.

Hopefully, the engagement session among government agencies, industry players, higher learning institution and NGOs would realize the national OSH’s agenda in empowering the preventive culture and self-regulation.
